ANOTHER BERRY BRACE BUT RAMS LET LEAD SLIP

BEACONSFIELD TOWN FC 2 BEDFORD TOWN 2

A third brace of the week by Aaron Berry saw Beaconsfield storm into a two goal half time lead but they were pegged back by a determined Bedford Town.

The game took a while to get going, the first half hour or so very much end of season nothing much to play for fare. That all changed on 38 minutes when Ryan Haugh made a surging run down the left wing and put in a decent cross that fell invitingly to Berry to stroke past Enol Suarez in The Eagles goal.

Two minutes later Berry had his sixth goal of the week and his 21st of the season as he made the most of some hesitancy in the Bedford defence to nip in and silence the noisy but good humoured Eagles following.

If the first 45 were Beaconsfield's then the second period belonged to the visitors. The busy Josh Beech managed to claw one back on 58 minutes as Beaconsfield made a hash of clearing their lines. The Rams were reduced to ten men for the last twenty minutes, having used all their substitutes, and showing signs of tiredness after three hard games over five days - the experienced Leroy Griffiths took advantage and drew Bedford level on 81 minutes with a strong shot from the edge of the area that gave Sam Bunting no chance.

Berry nearly completed a hat trick on 81 minutes when he got on the end of a Tris Campbell free kick but his header was just wide. Beech for Bedford also came close to gaining a late winner but Bunting was equal to it and the points were fairly shared.

The last ten games have seen only one defeat for The Rams, a good strong finish to the season. The last week has seen some very tired bodies give their all. Keep the team and the team spirit together and next season we should be competing for a Play Off place at least.

Come On You Rams!
