AWAY POINT ENDS LOSING STREAK

POTTERS BAR TOWN 1 BEACONSFIELD TOWN FC 1

Beaconsfield brought their four game losing streak to a halt with a hard fought point away at Play Off chasing Potters Bar Town.

The home side started quite strongly, Max Holland in particular giving the Beaconsfield defence a testing time with a series of mazy runs. Both defences were coping with whatever threat was presented until the 24th minute when a mix up between Brendan Hazlett and Callum Mapley saw the latter slice the ball into his own net.

Though not fully into their stride Beaconsfield started to get at least a sight of goal with Charlie Losasso going close with a shot on the half hour mark and then forcing a good tip over save from Berkeley Laurencin from a great kick off two minutes later.

The second period saw Beaconsfield's passing game click into place and they enjoyed some decent passages of play. On 56 minutes they got a reward when Losasso chased down a seemingly lost ball, sent in a cross that Laurencin looked to have covered but then inexplicably dropped at the feet of a grateful Aaron Berry who tapped home.

Decent half chances fell for Jack Lyons and Jack McKnight as The Rams enjoyed a good period of pressure. The Scholars played mainly on the break and on 78 minutes Chris Doyle sent a curled effort just wide.

The final couple of minutes saw decent chances for both sides to steal a win - Nathan Minhas going very close for Beaconsfield - but in the end a point apiece was a fair result.

Six more games to go, let's get a Top Ten finish!
