RAM of the Match: Tommy Dymott
Beaconsfield Town ran out 3-1 winners over play off hopefuls Welwyn Garden City, as they extended their unbeaten run once again.
A slow start where both teams cancelled each other out slowly came to life with Welwyn Garden City having chances to take the lead, with them seeing a great free kick come back off the post and being kept out on several other occasions by an impressive Tommy Dymott in the home goal. Half time came with the game balanced at 0-0, and with Beaconsfield needing to find something to break the deadlock in the second half.
The second half was far more entertaining, with Beaconsfield looking the better team for most of it, finding another gear as they dominated the midfield and created plenty of chances. Dymott made another great save before Beaconsfield took control, making it 1-0 courtesy of an own goal, which was turned in after Ibby Sankoh had won the ball and run from his own half before playing in Manu Oke-William, whose shot was deflected in. Troy Silvera was shown a 2nd yellow and dismissed during the celebrations for kicking the ball away, in what seemed a very harsh decision.
10-man Beaconsfield extended the lead soon after, with an inch perfect cross from Josh Marcon poked home in style by Oke-William. Welwyn Garden City then pulled one back through Dennis Halliday, who scored following a scramble in the box. Beaconsfield sealed the win making it 3-1 as Akiel Raffie ran past his man and across the 6-yard box and poked the ball home.
Beaconsfield are back at Holloways Park on Tuesday evening, facing local rivals Flackwell Heath in the Berks and Bucks FA cup semifinal.
