Didcot started brightly with Leo Coyle sending an effort just wide of the post with only three minutes played. Beaconsfield responded to the early warning and were on top for large parts as the game hit the 20-minute mark. Mirko Jovanovic did well to hold the ball up before playing in Joel Onu, his shot was just wide of the top corner.

Just before the break, Owen James was played through on goal for Didcot Town, but was denied by a good save from Beaconsfield keeper Eze Ifekoya. James got a second chance with a minute left of the half, and scored to give Didcot the lead going into the break. There was a further setback for Beaconsfield as the half ended, with defender Aaron White forced off through injury.

Into the second half and Beaconsfield tried to mount a comeback, but were undone by James, grabbing his second of the afternoon, finishing well after finding space between the Beaconsfield midfield and defence. Beaconsfield heads appeared to drop after the goal, and things got worse for the visitors as James wrapped up his hat-trick and made it 3-0 moments later.

Beaconsfield again tried to fight back, going close when Taran Sohi played a great ball in to Blaaze Lawrence, only for him to see his shot narrowly go over the bar. Any chance of a Beaconsfield come back were put the bed in the 80th minute as Didcot made it 4-0, this time Connor Barrett adding his name to the score sheet. Just minutes later JP Nyuysemo made it 5-0, finishing after a good initial save from Ifekoya.

Beaconsfield’s search for a win goes on, having played 5 games in all competitions so far this season.
