Beaconsfield earn a point at Ware

Beaconsfield earned a deserved point on the road, with a 1-1 draw away at Ware.

Ram of the Match: Josh Marcon

Beaconsfield could and should have been 1-0 up in the opening 10 minutes, with Manu Oke – William seeing his header go agonisingly wide. Most of the first half belonged to Beaconsfield with them creating the best chances but just lacking that final clinical touch that would have given them a deserved lead. Joe Lawal also missed his chance to give them the lead as the game entered half time 0-0.

Beaconsfield were the better side once again at the start of the 2nd half, controlling possession and again creating great chances. It felt like only a matter of time before they took the lead, however, against the run of play Ware took their chance to make the game 1-0 on what began to look like another frustrating afternoon.

Beaconsfield really turned on the pressure after the goal, playing some excellent football with several excellent attacks coming down both wings. They finally got what they deserved after seeing the ball pushed onto the bar by the Ware keeper, Josh Marcon was in the right place to poke the ball home and bring the game level.

Beaconsfield will feel unlucky not to have gone on to win the game in the dying stages, again missing opportunities by a matter of millimetres.

It was a day where Beaconsfield will rue missed chances but must take an enormous number of positives from both their improved style of play and for ending their loosing run.

They will now hope to return to winning ways when they face Northwood at Holloways Park on Saturday.
