Beaconsfield got their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over MK Irish

Craig Anderson

Ford and Lawrence help secure the Rams first win of the season.

With 12 minutes played, the hosts took the lead through Blaaze Lawrence, who headed in from a great cross from Freddie Ford. Beaconsfield looked well on top, cresting and exploring space across the pitch.

Beaconsfield could not hold on to the lead until the break, though, and a mix-up at the back saw James Meadows curl the ball in to level the tie going into interval. Despite the setback, Beaconsfield still looked the team on top and would have been confident of getting back in front in the second half.

There was drama early on in the second half with MK Irish reduced to 10 men, Matthew Haworth saw red for a last man foul on new signing and half-time sub Alfie Anderson. Anderson’s resulting free kick went over the bar after a deflection.

Beaconsfield made the man advantage pay, with Freddie Ford restoring his side's lead in the 65th minute after Blaaze Lawrence turned provider, creating space with a good run down the left before cutting back for Ford to slot home.

The game ended with Beaconsfield getting their first win on the board and a viral three points.
