XLFC’s approach is simple: take weekly strengths & conditioning along with structured
football-based sessions, combine them with ongoing support and accountability, and
create a community where men feel comfortable improving their health together.
The results speak for themselves. In 2025, XLFC clubs in Reading, Maidenhead and
Newbury saw a combined weight loss of 373.6 kg (58.83 stone) through the programme,
with players pushing themselves week after week, showing real commitment both on and
off the pitch.
The Programme Blends...
Weekly football training sessions designed for all abilities
Strength, conditioning and mobility exercises
Regular weigh-ins and progress tracking
Peer support and a team environment that promotes long-term change rather than
short-term dieting
XLFC participants have reported not just improved fitness and lower weight, but also
increased confidence, better mental wellbeing, and stronger social connections — all
while playing the game they love.
Beaconsfield Town FC will partner with XLFC to form “Beaconsfield Town XL FC”, launching
in February 2026, giving local men aged 18 and over, with a BMI of 27 or above, the chance
to join weekly sessions and be part of a supportive community working towards shared
health goals.
XLFC CEO, Chris Broadhurst said:
“The past year has shown what’s possible when men come together, support each other
and back themselves. We’re thrilled to bring these opportunities to Beaconsfield in
partnership with Beaconsfield Town FC.” — Chris Broadhurst, Founder & CEO of XLFC
