For our two home fixtures at Holloways Park on Saturday 6th December, against Biggleswade Town and Sunday 7th December, against Oxford City Ladies, supporters can gain entry by donating tinned cans of food instead of paying admission.
All donations will go directly to One Can Trust, helping local families in need during the festive season.
One Can Food supply manager Helen said this to us when we spoke to her.
‘’We are currently supporting over 500 people a week on average across South Buckinghamshire, of which 50% will be children. Food poverty is hidden, so you wouldn’t know people were experiencing it, even in Beaconsfield. We give our clients three meals a day for seven days a week. You can imagine we need as much food as we do all year, but particularly in the winter months when our client list increases, this year is no different, with food inflation being so high as well’’
This year, we will have a table at the Festival of Light in Beaconsfield Town Centre on December 3rd. We will also be accepting donations on that day and on the following dates in December: the 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th, including on game days.
We cannot accept anything fresh (fruit, veg, eggs, meat, dairy, etc), or anything at all with alcohol.
Don’t worry if you forget to bring a can; you can still donate in place of your match day ticket.
Bring a can, support your community, and cheer on the Rams! ❤️⚽
