Facing second-placed Hitchin Town, it was set to be a challenging fixture, but Beaconsfield remained confident, having drawn 2-2 to the Canaries in their previous meeting.
The first few minutes saw end-to-end football with both Beaconsfield and Hitchin having chances.

Sam Togwell was forced to make an early substitution after George Brough went down injured, bringing on Ellis Brown in the 5th minute.

The Canaries wasted no time and opened scoring in the 7th minute when Taylor Rhiney crossed the ball to Lewis Franklin who sent it into the top right corner.

The Rams situation worsened when Hitchin doubled their lead only two minutes later. Callum Nicolson won the ball off Ellis Brown, playing it through to Josh Coldicott-Stevens, beating Tommy Dymott and smashing it home.

The opening 15 minutes for Beaconsfield were shaky as they tried to get back into the game.
A comeback seemed unlikely until the 28th minute when Oke-William passed it to Anyanwu, who sent it over Hitchin keeper, Tyler McGregor, and gave the Rams a way back into the game.
Beaconsfield spent the rest of the first half searching for their equaliser, creating some big opportunities with Anyanwu, who went inches wide and nearly made it 2-2 going into the break.

The visitors went into the second half looking to turn the match around, but Hitchin scored in the 53rd minute. Oke-William was taken down in the build-up to the goal and there were calls for a foul, but the referee let play continue and the Canaries went 3-1 up.

As the second half continued, the Rams were struggling to break down the defensively strong Hitchin side and the situation worsened for them. The game was over when Lewis Franklin scored his second goal in the 73rd minute and then claimed his hattrick in the 86th minute, ending the game in a tough 5-1 hammering.

The Rams will now turn their attention to their next match against Northwood
