Rams Man of the match - Bajram Pashaj

A dominant first half performance set up the Rams for a second home win in a row but lack of concentration at vital moments and some wasteful overplaying allowed Kings Langley to hang around in the game when they should really have been dead and buried by half time.

Bajram Pashaj capped a mesmerising man of match display of wing play with goals either side of half time. The first a mazy dribble and shot past Alex Tokaczyk. His second a sublime curling effort early in the second half which sealed the victory and re-established the three goal cushion the Rams had held after 36 minutes.

Beaconsfield began on the front foot and stayed there for most of the first half.

Louis Stead opened the scoring as early as six minutes after good interplay between Pashaj and Charlie Losasso realeased Pashaj to the byline. His pull back was met by Louis Stead who fired in an angled drive from 12 yards.

The Rams maintained territorial advantage and forced a succession of corners but did not test Tokaczyk again until the 32nd minute when Mayo Balogun produced a superb teasing cross from the left and Brendan Matthew stooped to head home from six yards.

Four minutes later it was 3-0 as more interplay down the left saw Pashaj wriggle his way past two challenges before driving into the box and firing into the bottom corner.

Shortly afterwards the visitors right back Toby Syme was replaced by Charlie O’Keefe as Kings Langley attempted to reorganise and stop the dominance of Pashaj.

It seemed that a repeat of the dominant home hammering of Chesham may be on the cards but for reasons best known to themselves the Rams switched off and offered Kings Langley, who had created nothing of note to this point, a way back into the game.

On the stroke of half time a well placed cross from Gary Connolly was met at the far post by Luke Wade-Slater who guided a firm header past Constable.

Seconds later Mitchell Weiss was presented with a golden opportunity to narrow the advantage even further but was unable to get enough air under his lob and failed to capitalise on the home keepers advanced position some 15 yards from his goal.

In truth 3-2 would have been an injustice on the balance of play but Beaconsfield would have had no one to blame but themselves.

After the break the Rams again started the better and pressed the visitors back. Brendan Matthew almost extended the lead with a powerful downward header from another terrific Mayo Balogun cross but this time Tokaczyk was equal to it producing a fine tumbling one handed save.

The Rams continued to press and on 56 minutes Pashaj restored the three goal cushion providing order to a period of pinball chaos in the Kings Langley penalty area as Rams players queued up to mishit and scuff a succession of efforts on goal, Eventually Jerome Ecclestone’s shinned effort fell to Pashaj who took a deft touch, got the ball out of his feet, looked up and wrapped his left foot around the ball to curl it beyond the keeper and into the far corner from 15 yards.

The Rams continued to press but without forcing Tokaczyk into a meaningful save although a cheeky Wes Daly free kick did have the big keeper scuttling back to his line to make the save under his bar.

On 67 minutes, with the match meandering towards a rain sodden conclusion, Beaconsfield were punished again. Indecision at the back allowed Steve Ward, arguably Kings Langley’s liveliest player on the night, to force his way through and fire home a second.

The visitors then enjoyed territorial advantage for the remainder of the game as they took control of midfield but in truth created little more than half chances and Constable was never really extended.
