Beaconsfield Town bowed out of the Berks and Bucks FA cup, with their heads held high, after scoring first but losing 4-1 to a strong Maidenhead United side.

Beaconsfield took an early lead after a fast start, with Freddie Ford, who has been a standout player for The Rams this season, pressing high and causing the defender and goalkeeper to leave the ball for each other, only for Ford to win it and chip it over Maidenhead United keeper Fiachra Pagel, and find the corner to give his side the lead with six minutes played.

Beaconsfield could have doubled their advantage with eight played, when another star of this season, Blaaze Lawrence, worked space before smashing his effort against the post.

The early goal and effort seemed to wake Maidenhead up, and they equalised in the tenth minute; a half-cleared corner fell to Matt Robinson, who smashed the ball into the back of the net. Maidenhead turned the game on its head in the eighteenth minute, making it 2-1, this time Dan Nkrumah firing in from just inside the area.

With their tails up, Maidenhead punished Beaconsfield, making it 3-1, a good move ending with Joshua Johnson flicking the ball past Eze Ifekoya in the Beaconsfield goal.
The game then settled down, with Beaconsfield regaining a foot in the game, and pressing well as the interval loomed. The break came with the score still Maidenhead United 3-1 Beaconsfield Town.

Into the second half, Beaconsfield pressed and fought well. A flurry of changes saw Beaconsfield control the midfield with fresh legs. They had a chance to reduce the deficit when Mekhai Bessasa-Grant went on a run, beating two players before being taken out just outside the box. Unfortunately, his resulting free-kick effort sailed over the bar.
In the seventy-fifth minute, Maidenhead won a free kick on the edge of the area. Despite Beaconsfield defending well and seeing the ball out for a corner, they fell further behind when Dan Nkrumah turned in the resulting corner for his second of the evening.
As the game approached its conclusion, Beaconsfield had two great chances to score. Both fell to Alfie Anderson; first, he cut inside before curling an effort narrowly wide of the far corner, before going on a run into the box, only to be denied by a last-ditch Maidenhead tackle as he was about to shoot.

Beaconsfield exited the competition with the game finishing Maidenhead United 4-1 Beaconsfield Town despite a valiant effort.
