New Management teams early thoughts as first fixture approaches

It's been a busy first week in charge but a very enjoyable one!

We watched the game last Saturday and were really impressed with the quality shown but just as importantly the desire and work ethic from the players. Toby Little and Sam Togwell did a great job managing the side and the players worked so hard for them and each other which was great to see.

We met the players on Tuesday and have had two really positive training sessions to prepare for today’s trip to Tiverton. We know it will be a tough game but we are determined to start this new era in a positive fashion and we are all looking forward to the game.

Any change in management during a season brings some uncertainty for the players and often this leads to some changes to the squad. We do not want to make sweeping changes as the current squad has a lot of quality and a good spirit but there has been some movement this week.

Following an approach from Hanwell Town goalkeeper Ravan Constable has left the club and we wish him well. Kie Plumley has been playing very well and his loan from Oxford United has been extended to the end of the season and we have signed young goalkeeper Cairo Richards as cover for him.

Also leaving the club is centre-back Myles Anderson who we wish well for the future.

We have made two signings who will be in the squad today. Firstly centre-back Lewis Pegg joins from Binfield. "Peggy" came through the U23 programme at Slough 2 years ago and we've always liked him. He's had some good experience at Step 4, performing very well for Bedfont Sports last season and Binfield this season, and now we look forward to seeing him progress to this level.

Finally Lucas Sinclair returns to the club and brings us something different in the final third with his pace and is another welcome addition.
