Beaconsfield took the lead in the 5th minute, making space left between the Enfield defenders count as Mirko Jovanovic held off his man and slotted the ball into the bottom corner. Beaconsfield looked well on top in this contest, passing the ball through the midfield with ease, but were easily undone by a simple ball over their defensive line, which was poked home by George Thompson.
Beaconsfield came back and continued to break through the midfield with quick passing, which gave Matty Harriott the chance he needed to strike the ball in from distance to restore Beaconsfield’s lead in the 32nd minute.
There was controversy at the start of the 2nd half when Beaconsfield striker Manu Oke-William was hauled down inside the box, only for the referee to give the decision outside.
In the 64th minute, Harriott produced a perfect pass to play Oke-William in, and he calmly took the ball around the Enfield keeper before rolling it in to give his team a 3-1 lead. A flurry of changes in the final minutes saw Beaconsfield hand a debut to their youngest ever player, Striker Williams, who came on aged just 16 years and 17 days by beating Harrison Galloway's record by just a few weeks. 17 year old Jack Esiri stole the show with a strong performance in midfield, showing why he has become a regular in the first team.
Several mentions for ROTM, Manu, Tyler, Matty and Mirko.
We are away again next Saturday when we travel to Biggleswade.
