The Rams short run of good results came to an end against a well organised and determined St. Ives Town side though once again SYCOB's failure to convert their chances was to prove to be their undoing.

As early as the second minute Beaconsfield could have gone ahead when Elliott Carey went close with a header though the first 20 minutes were something of a cagey affair with both teams "feeling" their way into the game. St. Ives Eason and Hall both went close on 23 and 32 minutes respectively whilst Aaron Berry had a curling effort just wide for Beaconsfield on 40 minutes.

The Rams should have taken the lead on the stroke of half time when the lively Chris Henry was fouled in the area and SYCOB were awarded a penalty. Up stepped in-form Victor Osobu but his kick was well saved by Tim Trebes. The loose ball fell to Berry who somehow managed to miss an empty net from ten yards.

Henry hit the bar on 48 minutes but it was St. Ives who opened the scoring on 59 minutes when, from a quickly taken corner, Dan Bannister sent in a shot that Rams No.1 Brendon Hazlett could only help on its way into the net.

Osobu and Henry continued to torment The Ives defence but were thwarted on more than one occasion by St. Ives throwing themselves at the ball and really putting their bodies on the line for their team. Even the introduction of new striker Richard Worrell failed to give SYCOB a deserved equaliser and St. Ives took the three points back to Cambridgeshire along with their noisy and out of tune but great natured supporters.
