Rams Man Of The Match: BAJRHAM PASHAJ
Beaconsfield Town, for a few days at least, rose to second in the Evo Stik League South, East division with a narrow but deserved victory in their first ever meeting with Moneyfields.
The early stages of the game were very scrappy from both sides with clear openings a rarity. An Aaron Minhas effort that flew across the Moneyfields goal line on 17 minutes was the only action of note until the 30th minute when a cross was met on the volley by Bajrham Pashaj and it flew past Steven Mowthorpe in the visitors goal to put the home side in front. The Rams might have extended their lead before half time but saw an effort cleared off the line on 37 minutes and then a minute later Alex Cathline put a header wide when well placed.
The second half followed a similar scrappy pattern as the first with neither side really getting a grip of the game. Moneyfields put an effort across the face of The Rams goal on 53 minutes whilst Baj shot into the side netting after a good mazy run two minutes later. The visitors Joseph Briggs saw an effort comfortably saved by Ravan Constable on 57 whilst Aaron Minhas shot over on 81 minutes after he was well set up by Pashaj.
To get six points in 48 hours from two of the leagues high flying teams is no mean feat and though this performance didn’t match that of the previous outing against Cambridge City it still helped cement The Rams place in the higher echelons of the table and that’s a great confidence booster!. Come On You Rams!
