Tonight, we welcome Flackwell Heath to Holloways Park for our first home league game of the season. The playoff finalists have made a strong start, winning their opening match 4-0 against the London Lions. Goals from Ayres, Shakespeare, and two from Laraba secured a comfortable victory.
In addition to reaching the playoff final, our opponents also competed in the Bucks and Berks County Cup final, where they faced Bracknell but lost in a close match, 3-1.
After our impressive win away to Stotfold on Saturday and a hattrick for Manu Oke-William, both teams will be eager to continue their positive momentum after good starts to the season, in what is expected to be a very hot and entertaining evening at Holloways Park.
Head to Head game - Last season, we faced the Heathens three times, and all three games ended with a score of 2-1 in favour of Flackwell. Without a doubt, the tightest affair was the county cup semi-final, where Flackwell scored five minutes into six minutes of added time to reach the final.
Fun fact - None of the games last season were scheduled for a Saturday at 3 PM. The two league games took place on Boxing Day 2024, a Thursday, and on Monday, April 21st. Additionally, the county cup semi-final was held on March 11th, a Tuesday.
