It’s fair to say that things haven’t gone the way the Beaconsfield Town 1st Team would have wanted so far this season. Results have been frustrating, and the new-look Rams are still finding their feet as a group. However, with plenty of football still to be played, there is no reason for heads to drop, and Saturday’s meeting with MK Irish provides another opportunity to put things right.

The visitors currently sit 10th in the league with four points from their opening six games. Despite that, MK Irish have proved difficult to beat, losing just once in normal time so far this season. While the campaign remains in its early stages, every point matters, and there is already plenty of jockeying for position across what promises to be a highly competitive league.

For Beaconsfield, the focus has to be on the opportunity in front of them. With no fixture for ten days after this game, the squad will have valuable time on the training ground to work together, build relationships and continue developing the style of football that Sam and his staff are looking to establish.
Sam, alongside his coaching staff Tom and Aaron, will be hoping to see the new look Rams show the character, commitment and togetherness required to turn their fortunes around.

There is a clear desire within the group to give everything on the pitch, and Saturday is another chance to take a step in the right direction.
The season may not have started as planned, but the opportunity to change that starts now.

With the backing of the home supporters behind them, the Rams will be looking to put everything into the 90 minutes and fight for a result that can provide a much needed platform for the weeks ahead.

Sunday sees the Beaconsfield Town Women’s First Team kick off their new campaign, with plenty of excitement surrounding the start of a fresh season and a new era for the Rams.

The summer has seen several changes, most notably in the dugout, with former club captain Alix Todd stepping into the role of manager. Having previously led the team on the pitch, Alix now takes on the challenge of guiding the Rams from the sidelines and has been quietly putting the foundations in place for the season ahead.

Alongside building her squad, Alix has also been working hard behind the scenes to put together her backroom team. Experienced coach Sonny Moore joins the staff, bringing with him a wealth of coaching experience from his time with Wycombe Wanderers Ladies and their youth teams through the Wycombe Wanderers Foundation.

The Rams have also strengthened their medical team, with Marcee Collicott joining as Head Physio. Marcee graduated from Bucks University last year and steps into the role following the departure of club legend Phil Grey, who has played an important role within the team over recent seasons.

There have also been eight new additions to the playing squad, with further announcements being made throughout the summer. Keep an eye on the club’s social media channels for more information and introductions as the new-look squad takes shape.

On the pitch, last season’s mid-table finish provides a solid foundation for the Rams to build from. There were plenty of encouraging signs throughout the campaign, and Alix will be hoping to take that progress into the new season.

Standing in their way on the opening day are Woodley United, who narrowly avoided relegation last season. However, with both clubs making changes and strengthening their squads over the summer, last season’s results will count for very little come Sunday.

The Rams enjoyed the better of the meetings between the two sides last season, winning both encounters, meaning Woodley United will undoubtedly be looking to put that right and start their own campaign with a statement result.

For Alix, though, the objective will be clear. After making the transition from captain to manager, she will be hoping her first competitive game in charge ends with all three points and provides the perfect start to what promises to be an exciting new chapter for Beaconsfield Town Women.

With a new manager, new staff, new players and a new season ahead, Sunday marks the beginning of something fresh for the Rams. The hard work starts here.
