The 1st team had a good point at home to Hitchin, while our Women's team won 6-0 away to Woodley United. By Arran White

BEACONSFIELD TOWN 2-2 HITCHIN

Saturday's Goals!

Hitchin came back from 2-0 down to rescue the point in an entertaining game against Beaconsfield who played great attacking football.
An entertaining opening 20 minutes saw Beaconsfield take the lead through Zak Fraser-Grante who bundled the ball home after Josh Marcon's header had hit the bar. Beaconsfield then went on to take control for a period. Zidan Akers caused the Hitchin defence countless problems with his strength and pace. Josh Welland was called into action before the break, producing a fine save to keep Hitchin out. As the half drew to a close, Beaconsfield made it 2-0 with Manu Oke-William heading in from a corner. Oke-William could have added a third sending a header agonisingly wide of the post in added time.
The second half saw Hitchin attack more and a change in their formation made the opening exchanges difficult for the hosts, they pulled one back early on when Taylor Rhiney followed up a saved shot after Welland had parried well. Hitchin went on to hit the bar twice before Josh Jackman levelled the tie with a fierce shot from outside the box. Both teams could have won it in a frantic closing 10 mins, the introduction of James Dobson gave Beaconsfield plenty of great deliveries into the box but Hitchin dug in well to fend off the attacks. There was a shout for a penalty at the death but the referee was unmoved.

Woodley United 0-6 Beaconsfield Town FC.

Check out the match highlights!

From very early on, there was one-way traffic, and the Rams did not disappoint.

Skipper Todd scored the first goal of the day from the edge of the box, followed by Bloxham-Phillips with a smart finish from the right side. We'll have more on her later.

In the second half, things got worse for the division's joint-bottom side. Freya Harris, picking up from last week, scored twice. Bloxham-Phillips added her second of the game with a nearly identical finish. The Player of the Match, Katie Riddington, scored the sixth goal with the best move of the day. It started with keeper Audrey Wakefield, who set up Freya Harris, who then laid the ball off to Riddington to slot it home into the bottom corner.

Next up on Sunday is Sholing at Holloways Park. 2pm Kick off.
