Winning Away Run Continues

FLEET TOWN 0             BEACONSFIELD TOWN 2

Beaconsfield climbed to third in the table and extended their unbeaten run to six games after a convincing victory at Fleet Town.

The Rams took the lead on 53 seconds when a corner fell to Scott Cousins on the edge of the Fleet penalty area and he fired low and hard through a crowded area to chalk up his first goal in a Beaconsfield shirt.

They doubled the lead ten minutes later when a fast flowing move saw Charlie Losasso send in a curling effort that crashed back off the post straight into the path of the onrushing Jordan Ajanlekoko who fired home in some style. It was nearly three two minutes later when debutant striker Lewis Putman sent a header just wide as Beaconsfield really put their hosts to the sword.

On 23 minutes Losasso went down in some agony, seemingly having caught his foot in the turf and he had to be stretchered off, clearly in some distress. Let’s hope it’s not as serious as it looked.

His replacement Spencer Bellotti went close on 38 minutes with a strike that went just over and five minutes later he went closer still as he got on the end of an Andre Costa free kick but Fleet keeper Liam Beech made a superb save.

The second period saw The Rams kicking up hill. Both sides had periods of possession but with little end product until the 73rd minute when Fleet’s Sam Pekun headed wide, something Jerome Eccleston did for Beaconsfield three minutes later. The Blues Chris Wales was dismissed on 84 minutes for a second yellow and it took until the final minute for The Rams Jamie Norris to make his first real save of the game when he pushed away a Danilo Cadete free kick.

Five away wins on the spin is no mean feat for any team. Add in another clean sheet and a promising debut from Putman and, the injury to Charlie aside, it was another good day on the road for The Rams. Let’s hope for many more of them!

Come On You Rams!
