Beaconsfield beaten on tough afternoon By Arran White

Beaconsfield were beaten 4-0 away at Leighton Town in a physical game played in tough conditions.

Sam Togwell post match intervew

Despite an early spell from Beaconsfield, where they were comfortably the better team, it was the home side who took the lead when a corner was played into a congested six yard box and headed in by Sydney Ibie. Beaconsfield tried to get back into the contest but were pegged back further. This time, a free kick evaded everyone in the box, including Welland in the Beaconsfield net and bounced in. Leighton made it 3-0 straight after as Godlove Opong found himself unmarked to have a comfortable header to send his side into the break leading by three.

After the interval, Beaconsfield looked to find a way back, attacking well and pressing high up the pitch. Any hope of a comeback was short lived however. The hosts made it 4 with Luke Pyman smashing the ball in to give his side a huge win. Beaconsfield did not give up and kept fighting for a way back into the game, but came up short against a stubborn Leighton defence.

Beaconsfield will look to return to winning ways when they face Berks County in the Berks and Bucks Cup on Wednesday evening.
