Rams Match Report - Notty

Happy Mother’s Day gang…the boys provided you with 2 wins from my Rams side ?. Can safely say it was very laboured, sluggish and tough going in what seemed the TBS very own climate where the wind was so strong and a real chill, when it really shouldn’t of been a struggle as we dominated both games but only won 1-0 and 2-1….not sure my heart can take much more I was up and down like a yo yo on the side against our arch enemies Marlow United. Wilfred and Jackson really stepped up at the back today absolutely brilliant boys, putting in a real dogged display of huge tackles, covering each other and some great driving and passing, Noah slid in there to help when called upon. Sebby scored 2 great goals to get us over the line and really listened today with tracking back and he just nudged Wilfred and Jackson to MOM, Theo scored the other goal and stepped up in goal again today.
We go again next week ⚽️ thanks so much to you brilliant parents for supporting the boys it is so appreciated ?????? I hope you are all having a great Mother’s Day, can happily say I am after this morning ??? have a great day gang ⚽️⚽️⚽️?⚪️

Rams Match Report - Mark

A bright start to the day was replicated on the pitch for our first game. A very solid 3-1 win that could have been more. The boys were pressing from the off… getting into the opposition and generally bossing the game. Some excellent football was played with cutting passes from back to front taking multiple players out of the game giving us chance after chance. Ethan F and Arthur putting in a shift defensively which gave us a great platform to attack and be creative with the front players looking dangerous every time we went forward. Cracking goals from Josh and a very neat finish from Arthur (pleasing given we’d been practicing passing into the corner of the net in the warm up) raced us into a 3-0 lead. As I say it could have been many more. The opposition got a goal back in the second half but we were never in danger of losing the game. The boys listened to instructions and put in a shift which was just too much for this Marlow side.

Second game started much of the same…. Plenty of the ball and so many shots we could have gone 5-0 up in no time. We looked solid at the back and dangerous going forward. Unfortunately against the run of play the opposition scored a corker which shocked the boys a bit. Following that it seemed each of them out there were taking it upon themselves to get us back into the game. Unfortunately this meant that the flowing football and passing game disappeared a bit which left us a touch disjointed and open to counter attacks. An unfortunate second goal gave us an uphill battle to get back into the game. A situation, which, on the balance of play the boys did not deserve to find themselves in. We pulled it back to 2-1 and continued to press to find that equaliser but unfortunately time was not on our side.

Some real positives particularly in game 1 but over the whole 2 matches. David was tireless in his chasing down and battling up top giving both Marlow backlines a torrid afternoon. Kavi displayed some excellent skills and runs looking to get to the byline and get the ball across goal. Hugo worked hard and made some great runs and killer passes to turn defense into attack. Josh on another day could have helped himself to 6 or 7 goals listening to his dads request for ‘plenty of shots’ he came close time and again with some great efforts and, as Notty rightly says, scored and absolute banger of a goal.
Arthur was solid in defence and also worked well in midfield helping the backline stay strong and moved the ball well into attack, also scoring a very deft side foot pass into the bottom right corner for his goal.
Pipping MOM today based on his listening to instructions, tireless work rate, clearing up at the back and giving us a solid platform to build our attacks from was Ethan F. Thoroughly deserved, he has stepped into this Rams team and put in solid performances for the last 3 weeks.

Well done boys. Lots to work on but loads of positives too.

Happy Mothers Day to all the U8 mums. Hope you’ve all enjoyed your day.
