Following a disappointing exit from the Berks & Bucks Sunday Trophy earlier in the month, the Buffalos were determined to progress past Loudwater United and into Round 3 of the High Wycombe Sunday Football Combination Challenge Cup. This would be our third encounter with Loudwater this season and once again, it was a highly competitive affair with the visitors looking the stronger team in the opening stages. Thankfully though, some fine footwork from George Michell earned Martin Filipov an opportunity in front of goal and he didn’t hesitate to put us 1-0 up!

Beaconsfield defended resiliently for the remainder of the half to lead by one goal at the break. The second half started quickly and we soon stretched our advantage to two goals thanks to a calm finish from George Michell who was brilliantly picked out by Dean Wenham coming in off the right flank. Loudwater would get a goal back but it wasn’t enough as the Buffalos saw out the remainder of the match, despite suffering a late sin bin.

A fantastic result against a strong opposition and well fancy our chances once again as we enter the hat for Round 3!
