A Sad Day for Beaconsfield Town

Beaconsfield Town FC are sad to announce the passing of long time Club President Dave Piercy. He had been involved at the club, then known as Beaconsfield United, for the best part of 60 years, encouraged by his dad Bert who was a first aider and committee member instrumental in the growth of The Rams.

Dave took on just about all  and every job possible - from team coach to Groundsman, manning the bar, raising funds-  and was instrumental in the merger of Beaconsfield United with Slough Youth Centre Old Boys to form Beaconsfield SYCOB in 1994 and thus laying the foundations for today’s Beaconsfield Town.

He rarely missed a game, home or away, and earned the nickname Chipfinder General for his regular quest to sample the hot food on offer at every ground he visited.

The club would like to send heartfelt condolences to Dave’s wife Helen and his family and friends. Well known, liked and respected across the local Non League Football scene, Dave will be sorely missed by all at Holloway’s Park. RIP mate.

A minutes silence in Dave’s honour will be held at the next home game once the Southern League season is resumed.
