BOXING DAY DERBY JOY FOR RAMS!

BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 3 SLOUGH TOWN 1

Beaconsfield chalked up a fine 3-1 win at home to Slough Town on Boxing Day and as well as a securing a double over their tenants they also stretched their unbeaten run to ten games.

As early as the second minute the lively Jack Hutchinson fired a shot just wide of the Slough goal as SYCOB set out to 'get at' their opponents and not allow them any time to settle on the ball.

On fifteen minutes Tom O'Regan played a lovely ball through to Zak Joseph and The Rams top scorer made no mistake in slotting past Jake Somerville.

The goal seemed to spark Slough into life and on twenty minutes a shot by George Short hit the SYCOB post and five minutes later they could have equalised from a corner which Adam Foulser should have hit the target from. Both sides then traded half chances before, on the stroke of half time, Tony Mendy found himself with time to turn in The Rams box and curled his shot past James Reading to draw The Rebels level.

They were level for only a short while as two minutes into the second half Kwasi Frempong fed Jack Hutchinson who in turn slid the ball across the Slough six yard box where Aaron Morgan connected to restore The Rams lead.

The next ten minutes saw a couple of decent half chances fall SYCOB's way but they were also grateful to keeper James Reading for keeping out a stinging shot by Ben Edwards on 61 minutes. That was as good as it got for Slough however as The Rams defence stood strong and repelled anything The Rebels tried.

On 65 minutes Kofi Lockhart-Adams, who'd only been on the pitch for sixty seconds, made the most of a mix up in the Slough defence to slot the ball home from a tight angle to give the "twenty five home fans and a dog" (copyright: Slough Disgruntled Slough Supporters) a bonus Christmas present.

That's six goals and six points against Slough this season - not bad for "a pub team" (copyright: Really Disgruntled Slough Supporters leaving early). Must be a pretty good brew that 'Landlord' Meakins is serving!!!
