Clean Sheet Keeps Unbeaten Run Going

BEACONSFIELD TOWN 0         BARTON ROVERS 0

A draw was probably a fair result for two teams that struggled to really get going and who were both harshly reduced to ten men.

It was the visitors who settled first, Danny Watson having a header cleared off the line on seven minutes and then Rams keeper Jamie Norris making a fine save from a Jordan Ordofin header four minutes later. Beaconsfield’s first chance of note came on the quarter hour mark when Andre Costa put in a decent cross that was met by Dan Brown but his goal bound effort was tipped over by Barton’s Adam Harpur. Norris also had to be alert to keep out a strike by Nathan Olukanmi on 33 minutes whilst another mazy run by Costa just before half time deserved a better ending.

The second period generally saw both teams make too many mistakes in terms of choice and execution of passes. Though both sides enjoyed decent bouts of possession there was little cutting edge and neither keeper was really tested. The Ref’s red card, however, was brought into action on the hour mark when ex-Ram Ryan Haugh had a minor “coming together” with Elliott Carey and Ref Harry Moore, on the advice of one of his assistants, brandished straight red cards to both players much to everyone’s disbelief.

The game fizzled out after that with The Rams Charlie Losasso’s 72nd minute shot, which was saved by Harpur, the only action of note.

A clean sheet is always a plus and one point is better than none. With some suspended and / or injured players ready to come back into contention the next few games off The Rams a good chance to consolidate their place amongst the pace setters.

Come On You Rams!
