HOME WOE CONTINUES FOR RAMS

BEACONSFIELD TOWN FC 3 POTTERS BAR TOWN 4

Despite taking the lead three times Beaconsfield ended up empty handed as a hat-trick by Eoin Casey inspired The Scholars to fight back and take the points home to Herts.

Beaconsfield took the lead on 17 minutes when a great cross by Jack McKnight saw in-form Callum Bunting out-jump the Potters Bar keeper Ravan Constable to nod home the opener.

The two evenly matched teams then traded periods of possession with Ryan Hill going closet for Beaconsfield when his 37th minute shot was well saved by Constable. A minute later, however, a decent run by the tricky Ashley Nathaniel-George saw him skip past The Rams defence and set up Casey to shoot past Sam Bunting.

The Rams regained the lead on 43 minutes when the lively Ryan Hill put in a decent pass to Callum Bunting who controlled and lobbed Constable in one movement. However, Beaconsfield didn't keep the lead for long as Michael Murray took advantage of poor defending to put his side level on the stroke of half-time.

On 52 minutes Charlie Losasso robbed a sleeping Scholars defender to curl a shot past Constable and put Beaconsfield 3-2 up. Three minutes later he put another effort just wide whilst on 60 minutes Constable made a fine save to deny Jack McKnight. The Scholars No.1 also made a good stop from an Ollie Jones strike whilst Komal Llewellyn-Reid also went close as Beaconsfield piled on the pressure.

Not being able to grab another goal came back to haunt The Rams as on 74 minutes a howler by keeper Sam Bunting gifted Casey an open goal and the striker gleefully accepted to make it 3-3. On 79 minutes a fine double save by Sam led to a Potters Bar corner. This was sent in low and hard and saw Casey stick out a boot to divert the ball past a static Rams defence and into the net and put his side in front for the first time in the game, a lead they held onto despite some late Beaconsfield pressure.

Beaconsfield didn't deserve to lose this game but they didn't rally deserve to win it either. It was their fifth home defeat of the season and they have yet to win in the league at Hollways Park. Picking up some home points will be vital to ensure they move up the table so Come On You Rams!
