LAST DITCH WINNER SINKS RAMS

BEACONSFIELD TOWN FC 1 UXBRIDGE 2

Beaconsfield's losing streak extended to four games as a poor performance gave a struggling Uxbridge side three deserved points to quell any lingering relegation fears they may have had.

The Reds started brightly and should have taken the lead on nine minutes when Matty Woods header came off the post and Wayne Carter's follow up header somehow rolled along the Beaconsfield bar but didn't go in! The returning Nathan Minhas then hit the Uxbridge bar on 15 minutes whilst sixty seconds later Lewis Colt went very close with a shot for Uxbridge.

The Rams took the lead on the half hour mark when Minhas sent in a delightful cross form the left which Aaron Berry did well to connect with and slot past veteran Paul McCarthy in the Uxbridge goal. The Reds nearly grabbed an equaliser on 37 minutes when the lively Abobaker Eisa saw his header well tipped over by Brendan Hazlett.

The second half saw Beaconsfield struggling to string any decent passages of play together and apart from a Jack Lyons shot on 60 minutes they rarely threatened to add to their first half strike. Uxbridge on the other hand looked dangerous every time they went forward, Eisa proving a real handful and ex-Ram Andy Dean putting in some decent crosses. The inevitable equaliser came on 65 minutes when Woods was allowed time to control, spin and shoot by The Rams defence and his effort went in via the crossbar.

With Beaconsfield seemingly content to see the game out for a draw, a long Uxbridge punt out of defence in added time was misjudged by Harry Tucker and Woods was on it in a flash and gleefully shot past Hazlett to chalk up his 100th goal for The Reds.

The end of season run in is proving tough for The Rams. They really need to get some of their injured players back and try to regain the confidence they had on their long unbeaten streak of earlier in the year. There is still plenty to play for!
