CHALFONT ST. PETER 1 BEACONSFIELD TOWN FC 0
For the second time in just over a week Beaconsfield suffered last minute despair as a goal deep in stoppage time denied them a share of the spoils. However, league leaders Chalfont St Peter would have been mighty peeved if they hadn't claimed all three points as they dominated The Rams pretty much throughout the game.
Right from the start The Saints set about their visitors, leading scorer Tony Mendy spurning a hat-trick of chances in the first 20 minutes with Rams Captain Aaron Minhas doing really well to hack one goal bound effort off the line. Another Mendy effort crashed against the post a minute before the break but somehow it remained score less at half time, Beaconsfield having rarely bothered Garry Malone in the Chalfont goal.
The second period began with strong pressure by Chalfont, Rams keeper Jake Soutter doing well to keep an effort out on 46 minutes and defender Matthew Peake-Pijen clearing an Adam Kirby header off the line on 56 minutes.
Beaconsfield's best period came around the hour mark as the returning Charlie Losasso and the tireless Aaron Minhas got The Rams passing game working but despite good periods of pressure there was a lack of cutting edge in The Rams attack, Saints keeper Malone not having to make a save of any real note.
The Saints kept taking the game to Beaconsfield and both Guri Demuria and Josh Gibbens coped manfully at the centre of defence to repel the attacks. Until the 93rd minute that is, when a corner was met with a solid header by (ex-Ram) Kirby to ensure Chalfont's 100% start to the season continued.
