MORE HOME WOES FOR RAMS

BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 0 NORTHWOOD 2

SYCOB's atrocious home form continued as they suffered a third Holloways Park defeat in a week against an ordinary Northwood side who still proved too strong for The Rams.

Beaconsfield started brightly enough with John Christian having a couple of half chances in the first few minutes. Craig Carby had a header saved on the line by Northwood keeper Tomer Sherman in the 17th minute and sixty seconds later AJ crashed a header against the Northwood bar following good play by Aaron Lansiquot.

Failure to convert any of their half chances cost SYCOB dearly in the 44th minute when a rare Northwood corner saw Steve Brown left unmarked by the home defence and he made no mistake from six yards. On the balance of play SYCOB didn't deserve to be a goal down but 1-0 to Northwood at half-time it was.

Nine minutes into the second half and it was 2-0 to Northwood as Michael Murray was allowed time to control, turn and shoot past James Reading. SYCOB seemed to be chasing a lost cause but in the 56th minute they were handed a lifeline when Ref Daniel Leach awarded the home side a penalty, harshly so in many spectators minds. Wayne O'Sullivan stepped up to take the kick but it was a very poor effort and easily turned away by Sherman.

A header by Brian Haule was cleared off the Northwood line in the 60th minute but that was as near as SYCOB came as the game drifted away from them though they did look a bit brighter with the introduction of the returning Bilal Butt and James McCluskey.

On paper The Rams have a good solid squad. They need to start putting some points on the board to avoid getting dragged into a possible relegation dogfight. A lucky bounce, a deflection, an own goal...it doesn't matter how the goals come just as long as they do.

Come On You Rams!
