Rams Man Of The Match: NICK HAMANN

In glorious sunshine at Holloways Park, Beaconsfield and Dorchester fought out an evenly matched contest with a draw being just about the right result for both sides.

The visitors Alex Stafie forced a good save out of The Rams Nick Hamann in the very first minute whilst three minutes later Charlie Losasso saw a goal bound effort deflected wide. On ten minutes, however, the home side took the lead when Louis Stead sent in a cross that was met by a firm header from Tony Mendy.

Dorchester’s lively Aaron Rodriguez went close on 16 minutes but two minutes later he did bring his side deservedly level when he twisted and turned The Rams defence, got a shot off that hit the post and then bounced off the back of the diving Hamann and into the net.

The Magpies No.1 Kingsley Ratham made a fine save from Mendy on 21 minutes whilst sixty seconds later a header from Reece Yorke was cleared off the visitor’s line. Mendy was then again denied by Ratham on 29 minutes whilst The Rams were lucky to escape a shot from Rodriguez  on 31 minutes as he again hit the post though this time it bounced out of play. Rodriguez then had a scooped effort well saved by Hamann on 40 minutes and The Rams stopper also made a decent save just before half-time from an effort by Billy Lowes.

The second period was only five minutes old when Ratham made a fine one handed save to deny Mendy. Five minutes later The Rams forward did chalk up his second goal as he met a good cross by Losasso to put the home side back in front.

The visitors Cameron Murray had a good strike pushed away by Hamann on 61 minutes whilst seven minutes later Mayowa Balogun made a great clearance on his own goal-line to deny the Dorchester No.7. The Magpies kept probing in search of an equalizer and despite some solid Beaconsfield defending they got it in the 83rd minute when Rodriguez’s shot through a crowd of players took a deflection and flew into the net.

The final minutes saw Dorchester sub Ben Morris twice fire across the face of The Rams goal but no one connected. In truth a defeat for either side would have been harsh and both will feel that this was a point well deserved.
