BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 1 CHALFONT ST PETER 1
For the second successive game SYCOB took away only one point when on chances alone they should have had taken all three. However, like at the previous match at Aylesbury, if you don't take the chances you don't take the points and those four lost ones may well prove crucial in relation to any possible play off slot.
The first chance of the game actually fell to Chalfont with Alex Paine going close on two minutes. The lively Jordan "AJ" Ajanlekoko, after going close from an O'Regan free kick on four minutes then put The Rams ahead on ten minutes when he connected with another well placed Reegs free kick. Reegs himself might have scored on twenty minutes but in truth neither James Reading in The Rams goal or ex-SYCOB stopper Michael Power- Simpson in The Saints one actually had anything much to do in what was a quite low key opening 45 minutes for a derby match.
Chalfont came out livelier than their hosts for the second half and just four minutes in Terrell Lewis made the most of a hopeful punt from defence to chip James Reading and level the scores. From then on it was all SYCOB - Reegs had a shot well saved on 53 minutes, AJ had a header off the line on 66 minutes and on 70 minutes any one of AJ, Reegs or Brian Haule should have scored with the goal at their mercy but somehow they failed to find the net. Brian Haule also went close with a header whilst Aaron Morgan provided a good cross into the Chalfont area that no-one managed to connect with.
On a positive side The Rams are still making lost of chances and eventually they will start to convert a higher percentage of them. The team are playing good football and seem to have a good spirit as well. There's still lots of points to play for so Come On You Rams!
