Rams Go Top of the League!

Rams Man Of The Match: BAJRAM PASHAJ

A fantastic performance by every player in a Beaconsfield shirt saw The Rams chalk up another impressive away win and move to the top of the league in the process.

Though in-form Lee Barney had a third minute shot saved by ex-Ram Sam Bunting, it was the hosts who took the lead when a ninth minute shot by Charlie Mitchell took a strong deflection to wrong foot Rams keeper Nick Hamann. The lead didn’t last long, however, as Beaconsfield equalized in spectacular fashion on twelve minutes when a clearance by Bunting fell to Nathan Webb on the half-way line. Spotting Bunting way off his line he calmly lobbed the ball from inside the centre circle over the stranded keeper for a definite “Goal Of The Season” contender.

The busy Scott Cousins nearly scored on 24 minutes when his cross hit the Hanwell post and then a minute later the lively Meagim Qarri had a decent run and shot just over for the home side. Sixty seconds later The Rams took the lead as a training ground free-kick routine found Lee Barney in space and he gave Bunting no chance with a powerful shot.

On 29 minutes Reece Yorke shot over when well placed and then on 33 minutes Cousins went on a run, played a one-two with Aaron Minhas and fed the ball to Barney who again slotted past Bunting to make it 3-1 to The Rams. Barney then turned provided just before half time as he set up Baj Pashaj who’s mazy run ended with one of his trademark curling efforts that left Bunting clutching thin air.

The second period was always going to be a little less spectacular though Minhas could have scored almost straight from the restart as a fine flowing Rams move saw him scuff his final shot.

Hanwell in fairness never gave up and had some decent periods of possession though the final killer pass or shot was always missing and Rams keeper Hamann never had to make a save of note.

On 63 minutes sub Kezie Ibe made it 5-1 and scored his first goal in a Beaconsfield shirt when he followed up from a Lee Barney shot that was parried by Bunting. Two minutes later a superb Rams move that involved precision one touch passing from Stefan Powell, Aaron Minhas, Baj Pashaj and Kezzie Ibe set up Barney and only a fine stop by Bunting prevented another “Goal Of The Season” contender. Great to watch!

With The Rams defence rarely troubled, the midfielders nipping in the bud any possible threats and setting up a hungry front line this was a superb TEAM performance by The Rams. Baj got the Man Of The Match award for his tireless running and constant threat but in truth it could have been any one of the Beaconsfield side that won it, such was the high level of performance.

A great confidence booster for the tough run to come.

Come On You Rams!
