Rams Poor Home Run Continues

 BEACONSFIELD TOWN 0        AYLESBURY 3

Beaconsfield’s woeful home form continued as a poor second half performance saw visitors Aylesbury score three unanswered goals and in the process chalk up their first away victory of the season.

The game was delayed by thirty minutes as the Ref felt that the white lines were not visible enough. Once it did kick off both sides struggled to find any meaningful periods of possession, The Rams first “effort” not coming until the 26th minute with a wayward Wes Daly shot. They nearly scored three minutes later when an Aaron Minhas effort that was going well wide took a massive deflection to send it goal bound and forcing Moles keeper Ashley Jenkins into a fine acrobatic save.

The Rams finished the half the stronger of the two sides – Dan Brown forcing another save out of Jenkins – but with both sides level at the break the fear was that they might rue not going ahead whilst on top.

Those fears were realized on 52 minutes when the lively Harry Scott ran in from the left and curled a beauty into Jamie Norris top right. A top drawer strike that would have beaten most keepers. The same player almost repeated the trick two minutes later but this time Norris was equal to it.

Beaconsfield then had two corners in quick succession that nearly brought an equalizer as ex-Ram Craig Carby scrambled one off the line and then Dan Brown saw a header canon off the post. On 66 minutes those misses proved costly as Scott danced round a retreating Rams defence and let fly for another superb strike to put The Moles two goals up.

Aaron Minhas went close on 73 minutes but three minutes later Ty Deacon beat his marker to fire in goal number three and send the visiting Moles Army into delirium!

There seems to be no rhyme or reason why the home results are so poor - Holloways Park has one of the best playing surfaces in the division and fine facilities for players and fans alike.  They also have a top quality team who on their day are a match for the best the Evo-Stik South East has to offer.  To remain in contention for the end of season shake up Beaconsfield need to start picking up points at home to add to their excellent away record and must make Holloways Park a fortress. Come on You Rams!
