RAMS ROCK THE REBELS!

SLOUGH TOWN 1 BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 3

A fantastic second half performance saw Beaconsfield SYCOB claim the bragging rights in the first "derby" of the season against tenants Slough Town.

Yashwa Romeo and Zak Joseph both had glorious chances in the first five minutes to score as did the Slough strikers - it could easily have been 2-2! Joseph also had a great run and shot well saved by Jake Somerville in the Slough goal but it was The Rebels took the lead when Jamie McClurg latched onto the ball just outside the SYCOB area on 34 minutes and smashed the it home.

A bad injury to Sloughs George Short on 40 minutes saw the game held up for a good while and eventually an ambulance called. Looked quite a painful injury and we send our best wishes for a speedy recovery to George.

Sam Grayley replaced Inch at half time and a few minutes later Bilal Butt made his debut for SYCOB replacing another debutant Max McCann. Within minutes Mr.Butt was placing the ball on the spot after Zak Joseph was fouled in the area - no mistake from twelve yards and goal No.1 for Bilal.

On 61 minutes Craig Carby had a great shot tipped over by Somerville and from the resulting corner Nathan Poulton headed home his second of the season.

If that had the vastly outnumbered SYCOB support in raptures then they went into excitement overdrive in the 67th minute when Butt, following some slack defending by Slough, grabbed his second of the game.

Slough kept attacking in search of a goal and really should have had one when Couch headed over. Rams keeper James Reading made a couple of great saves and captain Yiadom Yeboah marshalled the troops like the leader he is as The Rams held out for an impressive 3-1 victory.

A good solid team effort, especially in the second half, and a great response from everyone to the awful Barton performance just two days earlier.

Next up is the turn of The FA Cup and a Preliminary tie at home to Hellenic League Bracknell Town on Saturday 31st August with a 3 o'clock kick off. At stake for the winner is £1925 in prize money and a home tie against Burnham.

Come On You Rams!
