RAMS RUN HALTED BY MOLES!

BEACONSFIELD TOWN FC 1 AYLESBURY 4

In what was arguably their worst performance of the season Beaconsfield were brushed aside by an Aylesbury side battling for their lives near the bottom of the table.

From the off The Moles showed their desire to attack and Captain Ben Stevens should have scored on nine minutes, only an outstretched boot from keeper Mohammed Ayoub preventing him. For Beaconsfield, Charlie Losasso nearly made something of a sloppy back pass on 11 minutes whilst sixty seconds later Aylesbury put an effort just over The Rams bar.

On 24 minutes Jack Lyons had a effort tipped onto the bar by Moles keeper James Weatherill whilst Aylesbury's Joe Hartley should have scored a minute later but blazed a glorious chance over. Ryan Hill also saw an effort come back off the Aylesbury post on 28 minutes whilst Callum Bunting had a rare sight of goal on 36 minutes but his effort was deflected off the bar. The resulting corner saw Losasso link up with Jack Lyons and when the ball was returned to Charlie he sent a shot through a crowd of players to put Beaconsfield one up.

Whatever Moles new player / manager Davis Haule said to his team at half time certainly had an effect as for the next 45 minutes they harassed and bullied Beaconsfield, not letting them have any time on the ball and deservedly secured the points.

On 48 minutes Aston Goss took advantage of some non existent marking to run on and slot past Ayoub. The Rams stopper was not having the best of games and he was easily beaten by ex-Ram Brian Haule on 64 minutes and could have been beaten again by Haule ten minutes later when one of his goal kicks went straight to the striker who put his effort just wide.

The only real effort of note for the home side in the second period came on 85 minutes when Ryan Hill put in a good cross for Bunting but his header was straight at a grateful Weatherill. Aylesbury had no trouble finding the net, however, and on 89 minutes Brian Haule outran the Beaconsfield defence to fire past the hapless Ayoub. Haule's joy was short lived though as - after a full scale bout of handbag throwing - The Moles striker was alleged to have thrown an arm out and Ref David Nicholson showed him a straight red.

The loss of a man didn't deter Aylesbury and well into added time sub Ty Deacon made the most of some appalling Beaconsfield defending to slam the ball past Ayoub and ensure his team inched further to league safety.

This was a very bad day at the office for Beaconsfield with far too many players putting in below par performances. Though the manner of the loss was concerning it was only their second defeat in 17 matches. With ten more games to go there is still a lot left to play for this season so Come On You Rams!
