BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 1 AYLESBURY 1

The Moles may be pushing for promotion but they were lucky to leave Holloways Park with a point as their hosts squandered a number of chances to have had the game well won.

On the 18 minute mark Victor Osobu had a good mazy run but pulled his shot wide whilst on the half hour Aaron Berry saw his header cannon off the Aylesbury bar. Berry had another good opportunity five minutes later but delayed just a little which allowed James Weatherhill time to smother his effort. Five minutes later it was Kofi Lockhart-Adams turn to miss a good chance whilst Charlie Losasso on 41 minutes and Osobu a minute later both went close. The Moles, however, offered very little in response.

Ex-Ram Brian Haule hit the SYCOB bar in the first attack of the second half whilst on 53 minutes both Osobu and Berry had presentable efforts charged down by the Aylesbury defence. Kofi also went close on 54 minutes with a shot over the bar but SYCOB finally made a deserved break-through on 76 minutes when a bout of ping-pong in the Aylesbury area saw Osobu nod on to Kofi who in turn nodded to Berry who finished with some style.

However in an effort to push for a second The Rams left a gap at the back and when an 81st minute free kick came to nothing The Moles broke away and forced a good save out of Sam Bunting. The loose ball fell to Brian Haule who was bundled over by Guram Guramishvili trying to get back from the previous free kick. A penalty was given and ably dispatched by Brian Haule to earn his side a share of the spoils. Haule almost sneaked a win for Aylesbury in the last minute but his header just went wide.

The point ensured safety for The Rams and pretty much confirmed a Play Off place for The Moles so a good day all around. Also good to see Jordan "AJ" Ajanlekoko make an appearance at the game albeit on crutches after his broken leg just five days earlier.
