SYCOB'S HOME WOES CONTINUE

BEACONSFIELD TOWN FC 0 AFC DUNSTABLE 1

Beaconsfield's search for a first home league win of the season continues as they fell to a late strike to AFC Dunstable - though it was the referee who dominated discussions amongst players, officials and supporters as with not a bad tackle in sight he handed out eight bookings and sent two players off.

With Josh Gibbens and Matthew Peake-Pijnen returning to parent club Oxford City, Beaconsfield gave debuts to two new defenders, Laurence Rispoli (from St.Margretsbury) and Komal Llewellyn-Reid (on loan from Staines Town), whilst both Ryan Hill and Ollie McCoy started on the bench.

Both sides struggled to get their game going in the opening exchanges, Beaconsfield's Callum Bunting forcing the first piece of action of note on the quarter hour mark when he a shot saved by Richard Perks. Two minutes later Perks saved a free kick from Charlie Losasso who also put another half chance just wide a minute later.

The rest of the half was taken up by some odd decisions by the ref - on 31 minutes Guri Demuria appeared (to AFC Dunstable at least) to pull Brandon Carney over in the box. No penalty was awarded and the visitors instead chalked up three yellow cards, presumably for dissent. Ollie Jones and Jack McKnight for The Rams were also cautioned though not one bad tackle had occurred.

The second period continued the firsts stop-start-moan pattern, AFC's Jermaine Hall having semi decent chances on 51 and 66 minutes. Dunstable were then reduced to ten men on 70 minutes when Josh Humbert was dismissed much to the amazement of all watching.

Ryan Hill then had a great chance to put The Rams ahead on 82 minutes but his effort was again met by a good save from Perks. Two minutes later the visitors had the lead, Adiel Mannion first to react to a loose ball from a palmed save by Sam Bunting.

Things got worse for Beaconsfield a minute later when Jack McKnight was sent off for a second yellow and but for a good save from Bunting from a Mannion effort on 90 minutes they could have gone further behind.

This was Beaconsfield's fifth consecutive defeat in all competitions and they need quickly to get back to a winning habit to avoid being sucked into a relegation battle.
