THREE GREAT GOALS, THREE GREAT POINTS!

HANWELL TOWN 1 BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 3

SYCOB left Reynolds Field happy with three well deserved points courtesy of three well taken goals but aggrieved at the loss of influential centre half Jon Munday for three games after an underserved straight red after an over the top reaction from Hanwell's Bill Healey following a foul committed by him in the first place.

The Rams were quick out of the blocks and took the lead on four minutes when a ball out of defence was nodded on and then met on the bounce by Lee Thompson who's left foot volley from outside the area flew over Hanwell keeper Alex Tokarczyk. Two minutes later Omari Patrick had a good run and a shot well saved by the Hanwell No.1 who also a minute after that made another good stop from a curling shot by Lee Togwell.

It was fifteen minutes before Hanwell had their first effort, a shot by Healey. Ollie Jones then had an effort go close for SYCOB but after that the rest of the half was controlled by the Geordies. Sam Bunting in The Rams goal made a good save from a shot by Daniel Vincent on 23 minutes whilst Billy Adcock went close as well after some good build up play by Hanwell.

The second period started with Hanwell on the attack and on 50 minutes, after been allowed far too much space by the Beaconsfield defence, Lewis Putman put his side on level terms with a good header from a cross by Chris MIlls. There was to be no collapse from the Rams however as on 59 minutes Aaron Berry got on the end of a through ball, beat the offside trap, rounded Tokarczyk and calmly put The Rams into a 2-1 lead.

On 65 minutes SYCOB were again indebted to Sam Bunting as the keeper stood tall in a one on one with Putman to make a really good save to preserve The Rams lead. Lee Thompson then forced a good save from Tokarczyk before the games big talking point - on 70 minutes Healey went in heavy on Jon Munday who did react but never touched the Hanwell No.9 who went down like he'd been hit by Mike Tyson only to bounce straight back up - maybe a career as a gymnast might suit him better! Ref Keiran Bailey produced a straight red for Munday but even that setback didn't dent The Rams spirits and on 75 minutes Omari Patrick went on a great run down the right wing to fire a shot past Tokarczyk to put SYCOB 3-1 up. Two minute slater a speculative effort by Berry from well outside the box dipped and hit the bar - would for sure have been a Goal Of The Season contender if it had gone in!

All told SYCOB put in a good all round team performance and worked hard all over the field. Three much needed league points and a great confidence boost ahead of the FA Cup tie.
