THREE ON SPIN AFTER RAMS HOME WIN!

BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 3 UXBRIDGE 1

SYCOB followed up consecutive away wins at Northwood and Leighton with an impressive home victory over an in form Uxbridge.

The Rams started brightly, particularly Tom O' Regan who was leading The Red Army defence a merry dance. On seven minutes one of his runs and crosses should have been turned in and he was also part of a move involving nearly the entire SYCOB team four minutes later which James McCluskey just failed to force home. The break-through finally came on fifteen minutes when the lively Nathan Webb put in a great cross which AJ somehow missed on the line but luckily the ball fell to Reegs who made no mistake from three yards.

The second goal came on 33 minutes when a fierce free kick by O' Regan was spilled by Uxbridge keeper Paul McCarthy and fell to Lee Grant who poked home. Such was The Rams dominance that it was 37 minutes before Uxbridge registered a shot on target and Rams stopper James Reading had little to do in the first half. If anything SYCOB should have gone in at half time three up when a 42 minute cross by Reegs saw a spectacular air kick by Kofi Lockhart-Adams and the ball was cleared.

The second half saw Uxbridge up their game and Mark Denninson headed just over on 50 minutes when well placed. The Rams responded with a great run and cross by AJ that skimmed along The Reds goal line and on 53 minutes they did score a deserved third when a Reegs cross was nodded in by Kofi from inside the six yard box. It could have been four on the hour mark when Kofi set up McCluskey but Maccas shot went just wide.

It was Uxbridge who finished the days scoring when Kevin Warner got onto the end of a 65th minute cross by Matty Woods. The Rams continued to press with both Jon Jo Bates and John Christian having good runs and shots as well as Kofi having a cheeky back heel cleared by McCarthy. Uxbridge, to their credit, kept pressing and James Reading made a great save from Warner in the last minute but The Rams were not to be denied the three points.

If a Play Off place is just out of reach then a Top 8 slot is most certainly a possibility. With a County Cup Final to come as well there's still loads to play for so Come On You Rams!
