Beaconsfield beaten at Leighton Town
Beaconsfield Town were well beaten losing 3-0 away at Leighton Town and will now be looking to end a 6-game winless run when they face Biggleswade at Holloways Park on Saturday.
It was a slow start, with both teams sharing possession without creating any real chances within the opening 15 minutes. Leighton Town took the lead on 18 minutes, despite Beaconsfield’s claims of handball in the build-up, with Louie Barrett slotting the ball home. The Rams did come close from a Josh Marcon corner when Manuchim Oke-William headed against the bar. There was little else to mention in the remainder of the first half and Leighton Town ahead at the break.
The second half appeared to start faster than the first with both keepers tested within the opening few minutes. However, Beaconsfield once again struggled to find their feet in the game with few chances to mention.
It was in the final 10 minutes of the game that Leighton Town would go on to extend their lead making it 2-0 in the 81st minute with a fine volley from Kyle Boyce before the same man made it 3-0 in the 89th.
On an afternoon where Beaconsfield struggled to find their way into the game and were far from their best credit must go to Leighton Town who came into the game off the back of their poor run and will hope this is the kickstart their season needs.
