As for all of us, the past two seasons have been challenging for the RAMS both on and off the field. We sadly lost our Club President, Dave Piercy earlier this year, the loss of a loyal servant of the club as a player and committee member for many years.
No football, no crowds, no functions has been extremely challenging for all clubs but we're hopefully through the worst and we can look forward to the new 2021/22 season with great optimism and enthusiasm.
Work is ongoing to lay our new 3G pitch over the summer so as well as providing a permanent home for all 15 teams for matches and training, we can now support local clubs and schools providing daytime and evening access to our facilities, particularly in the winter when conditions of grass pitches are often unplayable.
We've added new teams in our Elite Youth program for next season, including Under 12's, 13's & 14's, playing in the JPL and the Wycombe and South Bucks leagues. We've also affiliated a Ladies section and we are recruiting for interested local girls interested in joining us in this exciting venture.
Our educational academy enters its 3rd year for boys and girls, studying for a Level 3 BTEC in Sports Coaching whilst training and playing football every day. Last year we proudly achieved a 100% pass rate for our year 2 students, with one achieve the equivalent of 3 A-stars which would qualify for entry to most universities. Education is the key priority for our students but for those who love football, it’s the best of both worlds.
So, we look forward to welcoming old and new friends back to Holloways Park for the new season and we hope you'll continue to support us towards a successful conclusion at all levels.
