BACK TO WINNING WAYS FOR RAMS

BEACONSFIELD TOWN FC 2 AYLESBURY 1

Beaconsfield Town FC returned to winning ways with a well deserved victory over high flying Aylesbury.

Right from the start The Rams looked lively with lots of possession and on eight minutes Aaron Minhas had a strong shot well saved by James Weatherill. They took the lead on 21 minutes when the tricky Omari Patrick put in a good cross that fell kindly for Aaron Berry to give Beaconsfield the lead.

The Moles, however, are a strong, experienced side and came straight back Beaconsfield - Guri Demuria allegedly held onto Brian Haule on 24 minutes and ref Mark Mellor pointed to the spot. Ex-Ram Haule took the kick himself but it was a surprisingly weak effort that bounced off the post and though he put the rebound away it was disallowed as it had not been touched by an opposition player. A let off indeed for The Rams.

On 30 minutes Berry had a good shot well saved by Weatherill and the follow up by Patrick was also blocked, whilst for Aylesbury Jamie Read saw a decent effort saved by the impressive Brendan Hazlett a minute later.

The second half again saw The Rams ready to roll from the first whistle and both Berry, on 49, and Patrick on 58 and 75 minutes, could have extended the home sides lead. They finally added a second on 82 minutes when Charlie Losasso chased down a ball Weatherill was struggling with and the pressure led to the keeper half clearing with the ball falling to Omari Patrick who controlled and stroked home in one movement.

Aylesbury have scored a lot of late goals this season and on 86 minutes James Dobson hit a free kick under the jumping Rams wall and past the unsighted Hazlett. That was as good as it got for Aylesbury, however, and The Rams finally put an end to their recent run of league defeats.

All in all a good team performance, with Togs, as usual, leading the way. A few more like this and we'll all be looking up the table and not down it.
