Beaconsfield earnt a good point on the road, drawing 1-1 away at AFC Dunstable.
There was little in the opening 15 minutes, with both teams fighting to get on the front foot. That soon changed when Manu Oke-William gave Beaconsfield a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. A freekick was whipped in and headed towards goal by Luke Neville, who returned to the club from Bracknell Town this week, and looked destined for the back of the net, with Oke-William smashing home from close range to ensure Beaconsfield took the lead.
Beaconsfield could have had more in the first half, with Matty Harriott seeing a shot hit the bar in the 24th minute, before Charlie Smith fired over from close range inside the box in the 40th. As the half ended Beaconsfield were well on top and looked deserved leaders going into the interval.
The second half was far more evenly balanced, with both teams fighting for the ball and limiting each other to only a couple of chances. AFC Dunstable drew level in the 56th minute when Kwadwo Bugyei-Kyei found himself with space inside the Beaconsfield box and turned to fire into the bottom corner. The game became a bit scrappy after the equaliser, with neither team really creating much in the way of efforts on goal. Beaconsfield defended well when needed, with Luke Neville winning every ariel duel that came his way. As the game entered 5 added minutes Beaconsfield looked to create a winner, but were kept out by AFC Dunstable, with Akiel Raffie firing over from the edge of the box in the closing moments.
Beaconsfield return to action on Saturday 8th February, when they face Hertford Town at Holloways Park.
