SYCOB's dreams of an extended FA Cup run were crushed by a solid and professional performance by the lower ranked Greenwich Borough though in truth the under performing Rams can blame their own poor performance as much as the good one by Borough.

Beaconsfield took the lead on two minutes when Omari Patrick put in a decent cross that Lee Togwell met to shoot past ex-Arsenal stopper Craig Holloway. Ollie Jones then shot just wide before Lee Thompson saw two good efforts well saved by Holloway. On seven minutes however, after a foul had been conceded just outside The Rams box, Chris Edwards sent a great free kick past Sam Bunting and it was really was game on.

Aaron Berry saw a header cannon off the Borough bar after a great cross by Tom Gant on 18 minutes whilst ten minutes later Paul Vines for Greenwich saw two good goal scoring chances go begging in the space of 60 seconds. Vines also saw a shot saved by Bunting on thirty nine minutes but just as it looked like it would be level pegging at half time SYCOB shot themselves in the foot by mucking up a simple throw in that was pounced on Lewis Wood who toe poked past Bunting.

Greenwich featured a lot of experienced players in their line up and they knew how to shut a game down and protect a lead and that's exactly what they did in the second period. A well marshalled defence saw off what little threat SYCOB offered and they were content to play on the break - one such play led to their third goal when sub Billy Bennett got on the end of a long throw to secure the game for Greenwich on 65 minutes.

In truth, too many Rams players had an off day on the same day and that coupled with a solid if unspectacular opposition meant it was goodbye to the FA Cup for another season. Hopefully the experience will benefit the young Rams as they are going to need to learn quickly to ensure they start chalking up some league points.
