Ram of the match - Josh Payne
Beaconsfield Towns' run of good performances came to a crashing halt at Holloways Park on Saturday.
Poole Town handed The Rams a 3-1 home defeat and were seldom extended after racing to a 3-0 first half lead. The visitors were two up after only 9 minutes,
Toby Holmes tapping in Tony Lees pull back after Rams keeper Matt Rowely plunged low to his left to turn away Harry Hutchinson’s dipping effort .
Then Lee nipped in ahead of Rowley to meet Frankie Monks’ teasing cross and flick a header over the advancing keeper from 10 yards.
Lee’s goal was similar to the first chance of the game which fell to Beaconsfield but Jacques Kpohomouh headed wide with Poole Keeper Max Evans stranded.
Beaconsfield enjoyed good possession but created very little for their pressure.
Zidan Akers saw an effort deflected wide by Evans who spread himself well.
Poole then hit Beaconsfield on the break. Billy Lowes’ low cross shot capping a five man one touch move .
Half Time 0-3
Beaconsfield dominated the second half but Poole were well organised and disciplined and managed the game without really threatening Rowley’s goal.
The Homeside could not make their pressure tell, until Jefferson Louis’ downward header from a James Dobson cross finally saw the Poole defence, superbly marshalled all afternoon by Harvey Wright, breached in stoppage time.
