SYCOB returned from an awkward looking trip to Egham Town with a clean sheet, three goals, three points, their first double of the season, a really good all round team performance and in the process stretched their unbeaten run to nine games.
One of the few Central Division games to survive the recent downpours started with the home side very much on the offensive, Chandler-Joseph hitting the post in the eighth minute and Rams keeper James Reading forced to make two fine saves from Joe Chandiram just three minutes later.
However, on thirteen minutes Zak Joseph moved the ball quickly onto Jack Hutchinson and his cross fell kindly to Tom O'Regan to slot past Gary Ross in the Egham goal.
Egham then pressed the self destruct button and had Ryan O'Toole sent off for two (avoidable) yellows in the 17th minute and in reality he could and probably should have been joined by one or two of his team-mates for an early bath. The Rams took full advantage of The Sarnies lack of discipline and a well worked free-kick by Craig Carby fed Zak Joseph who in turn passed to Jack Hutchinson who curled a lovely ball past Ross - 20 minutes gone and The rams were 2-0 and a man up.
The first half played out with The Rams menacing in attack - Zak Joseph should have scored when set up a by a clever dummy from Hutchinson - and Egham constantly berating Andrew Dine the Referee with four of their players booked with only thirty minutes gone.
The second half was only a minute old when Zak Joseph extended The Rams lead following a layoff by Aaron Morgan. The following ten minutes saw some concerted Rams pressure with a shot by O'Regan and a chip by McCluskey just failing to add to the score.
On 65 minutes Hutchinson appeared to be taken from behind as he ran in on goal but no red card was shown. That let off saw Egham play out the game with the neat incisive football they are usually known for, even hitting the bar on 76 minutes and forcing another couple of good saves out of Reading.
If the match had remained at eleven a side maybe the outcome would have been different. As it was, Egham paid for their ill discipline and The Rams were more than happy to reap the rewards, a good all round team performance ensuring they go into the Boxing Day derby with Slough full of confidence and aiming to make it ten games unbeaten.
Come On You Rams!
