RAMS ENJOY TRIP TO WOODS!

NORTHWOOD 0 BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 1

"The one game we didn't want to lose"!. So said the Northwood faithful as they left the ground having been beaten by a SYCOB team who featured six players who actually started the first game of the season for The Woods!

For two teams hovering near the Play Off zone there seemed to be a 'nothing at stake end of season' feel to the first 40 minutes with very little of note happening and neither goal keeper really tested. On 40 minutes however Woods No.10 Michal Murray forced Rams stopper James Reading into a good save and minute later the same player fired a shot just wide. This seemed to wake SYCOB up and on the stroke of half time Kofi Lockhart-Adams brought out a good save from Roberto Stocchi. Half time, 0-0.

The second half saw a much improved performance from both sides. James McCluskey had a free kick fumbled by Stochhi in the 46th minute but no SYCOB player managed to make anything of the spill. Northwood's pressure saw them rewarded with a penalty in the 53rd minute when Craig Carby clipped a Woods forward - up stepped Murray who hit a strong enough shot but James Reading guessed correctly and palmed the ball away.

Zak Joseph had a shot charged down after some good work by O' Regan had created the opening in the 60th minute and ten minutes later The Rams again had cause to thank their keeper (and Man Of The Match) Reading as he made a great save from a breakaway attack by Jerome Federico.

Jon Jo Bates made a good run into the box in the 74th minute but Kofi's follow up shot was saved by the keeper. From the resulting corner AJ went close with a header and two minutes later a 25 yard shot by Shaun Owens was punched away by Stocchi.

The Rams break-though came on 82 minutes when O' Regan made good progress down the left flank and got a cross in that was met perfectly by Jon-Jo......and how he enjoyed scoring against his old club who had a few supporters giving him stick throughout the game!

After the results of the past few weeks and the now seemingly well documented off the field problems it was indeed a pleasant surprise to pick up three points against Northwood. Another three at St.Ives would be just great!

Come On You Rams!
