RAMS FOUR-MIDABLE AGAINST DUCKS

BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 4 AYLESBURY UNITED 1

The "Jekyll & Hyde" sides of Beaconsfield SYCOB were in evidence over the Easter Bank Holiday as, following their no show at Marlow on the Saturday, they put Aylesbury United to the sword just two days later with a good all round team performance.

The first fifteen minutes of the game were pretty much dominated by The Ducks as they had a couple of shots whistle just wide and forced Rams No.1 James Reading into a good save on the quarter hour mark. In truth SYCOB didn't really come alive until the 33rd minute when a stray Aylesbury arm handled in the area for no real reason and Zak Joseph gladly put the resulting penalty away. The Rams should have gone in two up at half time but Kofi Lockhart-Adams placed his shot wide on 43 minutes.

The second half saw SYCOB come out all guns blazing and after Zak Joseph hit one over the bar on 47 minutes, a minute later Kofi finally got on the score sheet when he followed up a Nathan Webb shot that had been parried by Jack Sillitoe.

Going 2-0 down seemed to spur The Ducks back into life and - after a delay for an injury to Aylesbury's Paul Edgeworth - they dominated the game for a spell, forcing James Reading into a great save on 64 minutes before finally beating The Rams keeper two minutes later when a shot by Liam Smyth took a strong deflection to wrong foot Reading.

The Rams then regrouped and on 76 minutes Tom O' Regan curled a lovely twenty yard effort past a partially unsighted Sillitoe to restore SYCOB's two goal cushion. That became three goals when Jon-Jo Bates got on the end of a great run and pass by O' Regan to put goal number four past Sillitoe just four minutes later.

The final ten minutes saw The Ducks bring out another good save from Reading as well as blazing a shot over the bar as The Rams played out the game.

Three points gained from the final home match of the season and a move up to a highly respectable seventh place in the Calor League Central Division table. Now for the small matter of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup Final!
