RAMS RAIDED BY RAMPANT RUGBY

BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 1 RUGBY TOWN 4

SYCOB's poor home form continued with a resounding defeat by a Rugby Town side who look more than capable of winning the Calor Central League.

The Rams were outplayed in all departments and never threatened Rugby's grip on the game. Having said that it was SYCOB who took the lead when, on three minutes, Wayne O'Sullivan scrambled the ball into the net but that was the only highlight of the evening for the home side.

Such was Rugby's dominance it was a bit of a surprise that it took them so long to get an equalizer, their leveller coming in the 35th minute from resident goal machine David Kolodynski. Most Rams supporters would have been happy to go in 1-1 at half time but Rugby had other ideas and after a catalogue of errors in the SYCOB defence Josh O'Grady pounced in the 40th minute to give Rugby a deserved 2-1 half time lead.

The second half saw a determined Valley side put SYCOB to the sword - helped by some schoolboy errors from The Rams. A third goal duly arrived in the 58th minute when Seb Lake-Gaskin put Rugby 3-1 ahead, a strike that drained any remaining confidence from the Beaconsfield side.

The 67th minute saw Rugby again pounce on poor play by SYCOB and it was Kolodynski who once more found the net. With the game now won Rugby eased off the pedal a bit but still had enough chances to extend their lead and they were comfortable winners on the night.
