Ram of the match: Charlie Smith
Beaconsfield continued their fine run, beating local rivals Aylesbury United 3-0 at Holloways Park.
After a tightly contested opening 25 minutes, Beaconsfield took the lead through Josh Marcon in the 28th minute, who found space on the edge of the box before cutting inside his man and curling a fierce shot into the bottom corner. After the goal, the hosts looked like the only team likely to score, playing great attacking football as they looked for a 2nd of the afternoon. It did not take long, with Beaconsfield making it 2-0 in the 37th minute. Joe Lawal was brought down inside the box giving the referee little choice but to award a penalty. Lawal stepped up and calmly slotted his penalty into the corner. The half ended with the hosts comfortably leading 2-0.
After the restart there once again looked to be only one side that would score. Beaconsfield pushed for a 3rd, eventually finding it in the 70th minute after some stunning individual play from Joe Lawal. Lawal took on several players, breezing past them to find space in the box before cooly flicking the ball over the onrushing keeper to extend his sides lead. Beaconsfield deservedly took all 3 points on what was a fairly comfortable afternoon for them, with Tommy Dymott in the home goal rarely tested by the visitors. Beaconsfield are back at home on Saturday afternoon with a 3pm kick off against Welwyn Garden City.
